Home Sweet Home The Home Sweet Home, a dedicated family theater, is protected from unwanted light by both its basement location and the custom window and door treatments that function as blackout curtains. The room is completely controlled by a custom-designed Crestron touch-screen remote control, so the user never needs to leave his seat in order to dim the lights, switch from cable to DVD player to satellite, or adjust the picture or volume. The theater-quality sound is provided by B&W speakers and Velodyne subwoofers hidden beneath acoustically transparent fabric from First Impressions in the front cabinets. The comfortable First Impressions CineLounger seats provide space for up to ten people to recline with a drink while they watch the show, while chaises longues accommodate two more. Rear surround sound is provided by B&W in-wall speakers painted to match the walls. Acoustical treatments in the room's coffered ceiling deaden the room, while a Runco CRT projector provides the picture. Components, including a Yamaha receiver, Pioneer Elite LD/DVD player, and Sony satellite receiver are hidden behind custom-built cabinetry, which also conceals the microwave, refrigerator and DVD collection.
