The Hidden Theater is a full audio/visual experience, when in theater mode. Sound powered by B&K surround equipment puts the listener in the center of the action, while the bright Runco DLP projector provides a dramatic visual experience. However, the homeowners wanted this room to be multi-purpose: they didn't want it to be a dedicated theater all the time. Audiodesign's mandate was to create a flexible room that is pleasant to be in whether it's being used as a theater or a family room. |

With that goal in mind, the Stewart screen needs to be able to disappear and reappear effortlessly. |

Here, the screen is completely hidden, revealing the Audiodesign custom cabinetry behind it. The Canton and B&W loudspeaker package remains aesthetically hidden behind acoustical treatment panels in the cabinet, and the casual observer would not notice that this family room could convert into a home theater with a touch of a button on the Crestron remote control. |

This is the rear of the theater. The projector can be seen in the center of the photo as a small, bright circle slightly above the thin vertical poster. The Runco VX-5000 DLP projector was a key problem-solving element in this theater; it allowed us to shoot the image off-angle without sacrificing picture quality. |
